Since 2008, we have completed real estate development, investment, and transactions across a variety of different asset classes including retail and office, attached/detached residential for-sale, and garden, mid-rise, high-rise, and affordable multi-family rental assets. The principals of Catalyst Capital have diverse and complementary backgrounds in commercial and residential real estate development, operations, principal ownership and investing, property and asset management, joint-venture structuring, project capitalization, and disposition brokerage.

Managing Partner

Beau Mcintosh

Beau McIntosh is one of the Managing Partners of Catalyst Partners and is responsible for overall management of the firm and its development and investment activities. Beau began his career in public accounting with both Deloitte and KPMG, where he worked as a consultant in private client tax services. Prior to founding Catalyst CP, Beau was a Regional Partner with Dominion Realty Partners, where he developed and acquired over $300M in multi-family, office, and mixed-use projects.

Beau is also a founding Partner of Capstone Apartment Partners, one of the nation’s largest privately-owned multi-housing investment sales brokerage firms with offices across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic and Midwest. Over the last 11 years with Capstone, Beau has helped lead the growth of the company into various new geographic markets and service lines, achieving consistent double-digit company growth every year since inception. Throughout his real estate career to date, Beau has been active in various roles and capacities, including development, acquisitions, investment and asset management, entitlement, property management, brokerage, and project capitalization. His industry experience to date includes a variety of real estate development projects, owned assets, investments, and asset transactions totaling over $2.0B of value.

Beau attended West Virginia University for both his undergraduate Business Administration degree and his Master of Science degree in Industrial Relations, which he earned in 2003. In 2011, he earned his MBA from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, concentrating in Commercial Real Estate Finance and Development. Beau is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council, as well as the Urban Land Institute where he has served on multiple Young Leaders Partnership Forums. He has served as co-chair of the United Way Young Leaders Council and on the Board of the United Way of the Central Carolinas, and currently serves as a Board Member of the Dowd YMCA in Charlotte. In 2013, Beau was selected as one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”, a recognition granted by the publication to the area’s most successful up and coming business professionals. Beau lives in Charlotte with his wife and two daughters.

As a self-made multiple business owner, AJ exemplifies the transformation from entrepreneur to leader. With no formal education in business, AJ begin his career in 2008, co-founding Capstone Companies, now the largest privately held multifamily investment sales brokerage in the nation. AJ has learned that above all, the key to scaling a business is humble, servant leadership. As a leader of his businesses, AJ has instilled in his team critical Core Values including putting “Team Before Self”, “Checking Your Ego at the Door” and having a “Relentless Passion for Improvement”.

Having founded three successful real estate start-ups, a growing food and beverage business, and various tech-enabled investments, AJ has acquired valuable skills from the business world. AJ prides himself on his approachable personality, team-before-self way of living, easy going nature and relentless work ethic. These traits have helped AJ develop a reputation as a trusted resource for anything multifamily, commercial real estate, technology or non-profit related.

Currently Managing Partner (Co-founder) of Catalyst Capital Partners, a multifamily development and investment company with a $1B+ pipeline throughout the Southeast, AJ oversees the management and investment activities of the firm.

AJ continues to act as a Partner (Co-Founder) of Capstone and directs the company's national growth and technology-related business development initiatives. Capstone is a multi-year recipient of the “Inc. 500/5000 Award” and multi-year winner of The Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” List. Over the past 12+ years with Capstone, AJ has led the firm’s growth from one office in Charlotte, NC to twenty coast-to-coast. In his time as a broker at Capstone, AJ led investment sales transactions representing an aggregate value of $2.5B+ and 25,000+ units. In this role, AJ was the Top Producer for 3 of his last 4 years.

AJ is also the founder and passive Partner of Built on Hospitality, a NC-based Food and Beverage group with a focus on creative new concepts in the full-service and QSR space throughout the Southeast.

While his business responsibilities are many, the pursuit of most pride for AJ, international philanthropy, specifically funding and building elementary schools around the world, is AJ’s guiding light. As a Global Board Member of BuildOn, the largest NGO in the world focused on building schools in rural third-world villages, AJ has been responsible for the funding and construction of 3 primary schools in Central and South America (225 students year-round), with 5+ more in the pipeline.

AJ graduated from The University of Michigan in 2007 with a MS in Bio-Psychology and Cognitive Science. AJ is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council and the Urban Land Institute and is active in various other professional and philanthropic roles across the region. He enjoys Michigan sports, volunteering, the outdoors, world travel, and spending time with his wife Caitlin, and two boys, Harrison and Jackson.

Brian Ford is one of the Managing Partners of Catalyst Capital Partners and is responsible for overall management of the firm and its development and investment activities.

He is also a co-founder and Chairman of Capstone Companies and served as managing partner of the firm since its inception in 2008 until 2021. Today, Capstone’s achievements include:

Brian’s extensive experience has garnered him with a comprehensive understanding of the residential and multi-family sectors, which has led him to create a number of unique development and acquisition projects. Most notably, Brian’s Wayford at Concord Build-to-Rent apartment development project, with rental townhomes and ranches. Wayford Concord was the first of it’s kind in the Carolinas and was ranked the #1 apartment community in the Charlotte MSA by Charlotte renters in 2020.

Brian led the launch of Capstone Cares, Capstone’s 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has raised funds for Homes For Our Troops, Crossnore, YMCA, Charlotte Family Housing, JDRF, and more. He has also served on the Board of Directors for State Maintenance of America & Theatre Charlotte, as President of the Mint Museum’s Young Affiliate Group, and on the President’s Young Leaders Council at Elon University. Brian earned a degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Love School of Business at Elon University.

Brian enjoys playing golf, following his favorite Michigan sports teams, boating with his 2 dogs on Lake Wylie or Edisto Island, and spending time with his wife, Heather, and their 2-year-old daughter, Isabella.

Ted Hill

With more than 14 years of experience, Ted Hill brings a unique and valuable skillset to the sponsorship team. His experience in commercial real estate spans all sectors, but has always been focused on value-add income capacity.

Ted began his real estate career renovating single family homes in 2004 and graduated to commercial real estate in 2006. To date, he has participated in more than half a billion dollars in transaction volume as both a principal and broker.

Ted has participated in ventures with clientele and investors ranging from small, high net worth individuals to $30+ billion dollar private equity groups. He has experience in brownfield redevelopment, rezoning, adaptive re-use development, bankrupted debt purchases, REO acquisitions, air rights trades, and M&A activity. Additionally, Ted holds a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.

Outside of work, Ted holds a leadership position at Forest Hill Church, Mission Forward, and Hiinga, Inc. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and studied abroad at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.

Erich joined Catalyst Capital Partners as Director of Finance in May 2022. Bringing more than ten years of experience advising owners, management teams and investors of privately held companies on a broad range of business matters including corporate governance, financial analysis, valuation, operations and transaction structuring.

Before joining Catalyst Capital Partners, Erich served as Vice President with Wells Fargo’s Business Advisory Services and Truist Bank’s Privately Held Investments practices where he advised clients on business transition planning and managed multi-billion dollar portfolios of real estate and privately held investments. Previously, he was a Senior Equity Analyst with J.P. Morgan’s Closely Held Asset Management practice. Erich has executed complex transactions in his capacities as a board member and fiduciary across a number of industries including: commercial real estate, multi-family development, government contracting and intellectual property.

Erich graduated from University of North Carolina at Greensboro with degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the Bryan School of Business and Economics. Outside of work Erich and his wife, Casey, enjoy exploring new restaurants, traveling and participating in sports with their two boys.

David has 27 years of experience in the acquisition, entitlement, development and construction of mixed-use projects nationally. He has been involved in over $5 billion in various commercial office, retail, multi-family and industrial projects. He has spent most of his career in the Carolinas where he is from but has developed property nationwide. He has completed large retail projects with anchor tenants such as Publix, Wegmans and Harris Teeter.

Prior to joining the Catalyst team, David lead SunCap’s efforts in the multi-family and mixed-use space covering the US but primarily focused in the Carolinas. Prior to that, David lead Cortland Partners efforts in Western US, covering NV, UT, AZ & CO.

David received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration from Kenan Flagler at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an active ULI member and is a CCIM candidate.

Adam joined Catalyst in October 2021 with over twenty years of experience in General Contracting and Owners Representation. His project experience spans from custom homes to large scale multi family to over seas data center and mission critical assignments accounting for over $2 billion in value.

He began his career in Washington, D.C. as a Superintendent for several large, private builders before transitioning to Project Management and returning to the Carolinas with a Top five multi family owner/builder and gaining further experience as an Owners Representative with a large southeastern development firm before joining the team at Catalyst.

Adam is an alumni of Coastal Carolina University and is a NC Licensed Building Contractor. When not building, he enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his wife and son.

Kevin joined the Catalyst team in May of 2019 offering experience in financial modeling, market research, and transaction management. Previous to CCP, Kevin began his career with Capstone Apartment Partners, a regional multi-family and commercial land brokerage company where he worked on over $500 million of closed transactions in the Southeast. He obtained a Bachelor and Masters degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Real Estate degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

In his free time, Kevin enjoys going to the beach with his wife and son, Lucy and Brooks.

Austin joined the Catalyst team in October of 2021 as a Development Associate and has previous experience in real estate finance, financial modeling, and investment analysis.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Austin began his career with U.S. Bank, where he managed a commercial real estate portfolio of over $300 million that covered multi-family, office, and retail projects across the Southeast. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and studied abroad at the London School of Economics in London, UK.

In his free time, Austin enjoys world travel, stressing out over UNC Chapel Hill sports, and spending time with friends and family.

With over 20 years of construction management experience, Mike joined the Catalyst Capital Partners team in June 2022. His experience ranges from retirement communities, residential and commercial development sites, and big box stores to townhome and condo projects and university buildings. Mike’s previous experience has spanned the country from Maryland to Texas to Michigan. He’s completed over 40 hours of OSHA certification. Mike prides himself on being dedicated to completing high-quality projects, safely, on-time and within budget.

Mike is an alumni of Ohio State University/ATI. Outside of work, Mike enjoys fly fishing in the mountains out west for trout and inshore/offshore fishing down in Edisto beach.

Whitney joined the Catalyst team in October of 2021 as the marketing lead. She brings with her over 20 years of marketing, advertising and graphic design experience. Whitney began her career at an advertising agency in Chicago, before heading to Los Angeles and expanding her knowledge in the graphic design arena and then heading back to her home state of Michigan and gaining experience in the public relations world. She prides herself on her ability to collaborate with the team to creatively get the Catalyst name out there in the real estate development world through sales materials, social media, events, news releases and video editing.

Whitney has an Advertising/Marketing degree from Bradley University and a graphic design certificate from UCLA Extension. She enjoys traveling, going to the beach and being with her 3 active kids, Calla, Rhett and Wells.

Allie Solano is the Executive Assistant to Beau McIntosh and the Executive Administrator for the Catalyst team. She has extensive experience with all administrative tasks, including scheduling and correspondence. Driven by hard work she takes pride in providing the best experience possible.

Originally from New Jersey, Allie graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Athletic Training. After graduation, Allie worked as a Special Education Teacher for 7 years in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She decided to change careers, move to Charlotte and join the Catalyst team in February 2022. Her previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, has tailored her skills to meet the needs to various clients and her team. Working previously in a high stressed, fast paced environment, she can multitask, resolve conflicts, and apply her positive attitude to anyone’s needs.

Allie is happily married to her husband Jason for 6 years. They have two dogs, Zoey and Hunter, that she loves very much. She enjoys cooking, hanging out with friends and family, working out, watching sports and loves to host parties.

Stevie is a University of South Carolina graduate and All-Star Cheerleading coach. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, binging documentaries, and exploring Charlotte with her friends.

In her free time Olivia enjoys spending time with friends, traveling, and hanging out with her dalmatian, Pongo.
